About Modern Terminal

A monospace ConnectWise invoice design rendered entirely in code font, with section headers drawn from ASCII rules.

Modern Terminal is the most opinionated design on this page. Every element — company name, line items, totals — is set in monospace. Section headers are literal dashed rules (`──── Line Items ────`). The palette is Catppuccin Mocha: purple, green, cyan, peach. It's an invoice that looks like a terminal emulator.

This is a personality pick. If your MSP already has terminal-forward branding, Modern Terminal lands. If not, it'll feel like a costume. You'll know which one applies.

Best for

  • Developer-focused MSPs and co-managed engineering shops
  • Firms whose brand already leans terminal or CLI
  • Technical audiences who appreciate the reference
  • Owners sending invoices to peers, not procurement

Frequently asked questions

Is this actually legible for clients?

+

In monospace, yes — the Catppuccin palette is tuned for contrast, and the line-item table aligns cleanly in code font. It reads like a well-formatted `less` output. Clients unfamiliar with monospace may find it unusual.

Can I build this for my ConnectWise invoices?

+

Yes. On Better Invoice's Custom plan, the code editor builds a ConnectWise Manage invoice in this look, with your agreements, time, products, and tax flowing in through the API. No Report Writer, no Crystal Reports.

Can I tone it down — keep the monospace but lighter colors?

+

Yes. The palette is tokenized, so on the Custom plan you can swap Catppuccin for any color system or flip to a light background while keeping the all-monospace treatment.

Will my clients take this seriously?

+

Technical clients usually enjoy it. Non-technical clients may not recognize the reference. If your book is mixed, keep Modern Terminal for specific accounts and pick Functional Modernist or Minimal Light as your default.
