ConnectWise Billing Cycle Setup Table
The Billing Cycle setup table controls how often ConnectWise generates invoices for active agreements. Each cycle you create here becomes an option when configuring an agreement type or individual agreement.
Billing cycle fields
When you create or edit a billing cycle, you’ll fill in these fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Billing Cycle ID | A short identifier for the cycle (e.g., MONTHLY). |
| Description | A human-readable label shown in dropdowns across ConnectWise. |
| Recurrence | How often invoices generate. See options below. |
| Default | Makes this cycle the default on new agreement types. Only one cycle can be the default. |
Recurrence options
Select the frequency that matches how you bill:
- Weekly — Generates an invoice every week.
- Bi-Weekly — Generates an invoice every two weeks.
- Monthly — Generates a monthly invoice.
- Bi-Monthly — Generates an invoice every two months.
- Quarterly — Generates an invoice every three months.
- Semi-Annual — Generates an invoice every six months.
- Yearly — Generates an invoice annually.
- Not Recurring — Does not generate an invoice automatically.
Note: Do not create a one-time billing cycle here. ConnectWise already includes a One Time option directly on individual agreements via the Recurring Invoicing Parameters pod. That option isn’t visible or editable in this setup table.
Create a billing cycle
- Go to Setup Tables and search for or select Billing Cycle.
- Select New to open a blank billing cycle record.
- In the Billing Cycle ID field, enter a short identifier.
- In the Description field, enter a label for the cycle.
- In the Recurrence field, select the invoice frequency.
- To make this the default cycle for new agreement types, select Default.
- Select Save.
Set the default billing cycle
The default billing cycle pre-populates on new agreement types in the Agreement Type Setup Table. If no default is set, ConnectWise leaves the field blank and you’ll need to select a cycle manually when building each agreement type.
To change the default, open the cycle you want to promote, select Default, and save. ConnectWise removes the default flag from whichever cycle held it previously.
