Agreement Attachments Tab
The Attachments tab on an agreement lets you store files directly on the agreement record — contracts, SOWs, or any supporting documents you want accessible without hunting through a shared drive.
Go to Finance > Agreements, open an agreement, and select the Attachments tab.
List view columns
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Title | The description you entered in the Description field when uploading. |
| File Name | The original name of the uploaded file. |
| Last Update | Date and time the attachment was last edited. |
| Owner | The member who uploaded the attachment. |
| Read Only | Shown when Only allow the owner to update is selected. Hidden by default. |
Note: The Level column is a legacy field and no longer applies. It is hidden by default.
Add an attachment
Select the + button or use one of the three upload methods in the Attachments pod:
- Upload File — Copies the file into ConnectWise. Anyone with access to the agreement can open it without needing access to the original location.
- Link to Local File — Stores a link to a file on your workstation or shared drive. The viewer must have access to that location to open it. Not available in the browser version of ConnectWise.
- Enter URL — Links to a file stored externally, such as SharePoint or a vendor site.
Attachment pod fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| File / URL | The path or URL to the attachment. External links must point to a public or shared location so all users can access them. |
| Browse… | Opens a file picker to locate and select the attachment. |
| Description | A label for the file. Auto-populates from the file name, but you can edit it. |
| Don’t display in Customer Portal | Select to keep the document internal and hidden from the portal. |
| Only allow the owner to update | Select to prevent other members from editing or replacing the file. |
Note: If a file type is not supported, ConnectWise displays
???in place of the file extension. See ConnectWise’s supported file types documentation for the full list.
Drag and drop (desktop client only)
You can drag files directly into the white space of the Attachments tab. ConnectWise uploads the file using the default Upload as: setting from My Company > Owner tab.
Note: Drag and drop is only available in the desktop client, not the browser version.
Drag and drop not working on Windows 10
Windows 10 restricts file transfers between processes running at different integrity levels. If drag and drop stops working — commonly when dragging from Outlook — the two processes are likely running at different integrity levels.
Diagnose the issue
- Download and extract Process Explorer (no installation required).
- Right-select EXE and select Run as admin.
- Right-select the Process column header and select Select Columns.
- Select the Integrity Level checkbox.
- Find ConnectWise.exe and Outlook.exe (or the source process) in the list. If their Integrity values differ, that is causing the drag and drop failure.
Fix the issue
The most common cause is one executable set to Run as Administrator.
- Right-select the ConnectWise or Outlook shortcut and select Properties > Shortcut.
- Note the path in the Target field:
- ConnectWise:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ConnectWise\PSA.net\ - Outlook:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\
- ConnectWise:
- Navigate to that location and right-select ConnectWise.exe or Outlook.exe.
- Select Properties and clear Run as Administrator.
- Restart ConnectWise or Outlook.
Delete an attachment
- In the Attachments tab, select the Title link of the attachment you want to remove.
- Select Delete.
- Select OK to confirm.
