Financial Dashboard

Reviewing monthly costs, revenue, and work-in-progress in the ConnectWise PSA Financial Dashboard.

The ConnectWise Financial Dashboard gives you a monthly snapshot of your business finances: revenue billed, cost of goods, work-in-progress (WIP), product margins, and expense totals — all in one screen. You can slice this by business unit or location, which makes it the fastest way to run a rough P&L check without pulling a custom report.

MSPs use the Financial Dashboard to track profitability at the business-unit level, monitor WIP aging before month-end close, and compare location-level revenue against cost. If you manage multiple offices or divisions inside a single ConnectWise instance, the location filter is how you see each one in isolation.

One gotcha worth knowing upfront: the Financial Dashboard is a reporting snapshot, not a ledger. Its numbers are calculated from ConnectWise's billing and time data at the time of rendering — they are not pulled from the Accounting Interface export. This means the Dashboard total and your accounting system total will often differ, especially if invoices have been exported but later adjusted, or if GL mappings don't align one-to-one with Dashboard categories. Use the Dashboard for operational awareness, not as the source of truth for your books.
