ConnectWise Agreement Types
ConnectWise Manage offers five agreement types. Each controls how work is tracked, billed, and carried over from period to period. Choose the type that matches how you’ve structured the service with your client. Every type shares the same underlying record — see the Agreement tab for the field-by-field reference and the Agreement Tabs overview for the other tabs on each agreement.
Agreement types
-
One-Time Block Agreement — A fixed block of hours or dollars purchased once. Work draws down against the block until it’s exhausted or expires. No recurring billing.
-
Recurring Block Agreement — A block of hours or dollars that resets on a recurring schedule (monthly, quarterly, etc.). Unused time can roll over or expire depending on your configuration.
-
Managed Service Agreement — The standard agreement type for recurring managed services. Supports per-unit and flat-rate billing, additions, and detailed service tracking.
-
Hosting Agreement — Designed for hosting services billed at a flat rate. Simpler structure than a managed service agreement — fewer tabs and no per-incident billing options.
-
User-Based Agreement — Billing is calculated per user (or per seat). Useful for per-user licensing, per-user support plans, or any service priced on a headcount basis.
